The Story Book

The light breeze blew along,
the wavy length of my hair, unstirred.
And yet, like the extinguished flame
This heart still ablaze, fumes to dust.

The smoke furls,unfurls
A plot of mazed connections
Crossroads that bend into forked steeps
and rivers with no bridges.

And as the dust settled,
it paved way for a new beginning
And yet I moved across the rivers,
to meet the yesterday of my dreams.

They stopped me, as I turned back to take a look
Wait, they said, you must look ahead, you should!
I laughed, a knowing smile, I know what I need to do.
I tore that page, burnt it down and closed the Book.
